For those travelling a long way, staying a while, or both.
We’ll be taking two weeks off work between 5th to 20th of November to make the most of our special visitors. We’ve organized a few events leading up to the wedding, and would love to spend time informally with you afterward, too.
Picnic on the Esplanade
thursday afternoon, 10th Nov
2 - 5:30 PM

Optional. Kick off the wedding weekend with us with a picnic and games in the grass. We’ll provide nibbles. Please BYOB drinks, sunscreen, and extra picnic rugs. Kids welcome.

Family dinner
Thursday, 10th November

Small dinner for our families to meet and celebrate.
Lunch + lawn bowls
friday, 11th November
Lunch: The Tropic @ Wharf Bar, 11:30am–2:30pm
Lunch on us. It will be canapé style so if you’re a little late, don’t stress. Drinks can be purchased at the bar. Kids are welcome to join!
Lunch is indoors and will happen no matter the weather.
Lawn Bowls: Manly Bowling CLub, 2:45–5pm
Afterwards we’ll walk 5 minutes to the Manly Bowling Club. Lawn bowls is a time-honored Australian tradition, it’s similar to Bocce, but with different balls. Drinking while playing is encouraged - it’s great fun!
If you’re bowling, you must bring your original copy of Australian Driver’s License or Passport. These are the only acceptable items of ID.
Dress code: Casual. Guys - no singlets or sleeveless shirts allowed. Ladies - no heels on the greens.
Unfortunately, kids <12 aren’t allowed to bowl on be on the greens. There’s a footy oval nearby they can play on with supervision.
If there’s light rain, bowls will go ahead and ponchos will be provided.
The Wedding
10:30 am - 4:30 pm Saturday, 12th November
Pilu at Freshwater
The ceremony starts at 11 am, so please arrive no later than 10:45. Lunch will be served just after midday.
Kids are welcome. (But also if you think you’d have more fun without them, feel free to come without!)
There’s limited parking nearby so we’d recommend catching an Uber to the venue.
Dress code: Semi-formal. Many guests have had questions about what to wear. If you’re tossing up between 2 options, we recommend going with the more dressy/formal option. James will be wearing a tux!
It’s fine to wear heels - the ceremony isn’t on the beach.
The After Party
4:30 pm Saturday, 12th November
Harbord Hotel
Completely optional for those that want to kick on. It’s a long day though, so pace yourself.
This is practically next door to the wedding venue - so an easy walk.
This is only for the adults. If you’ve got kids, best to pass them on to the babysitter between venues.

Becky and James will have a quiet day by themselves, to celebrate being a married couple.
Enjoy a day on Manly beach, explore in the city, or catch a flight home.

We've taken this week off work, so we can spend quality time with friends and family. (That’s you!)
